Launching an online business - a social networking site but for a particular interest group. We want to allow users to set up profiles and interact with each other, and over time we'll be adding functions.
Our challenge is technical. We need not simply web design, but also web programming - capture user info like name, address, interests, etc. Go Daddy will design our pages but not do the programming.
So, how do we project-manage the programming with the design? Is there a checklist or a website where we can learn what we need in order to pull this off?
Should I build my own site or let Go Daddy do it?
Godady charges are exorbitant. You can place the same projects at freelance websites like http://getafreelnacer.com/ and save 50%-80% of design cost
Reply:the actual design concepts should be done by you or at least with your extensive input. you can create that much with any of various user friendly programs that would cost about the same as hiring someone.
the programming is the "difficult" bit.
a mere HNC in software development would cover this.
far to many people can do this.
spam this offer around with figures - you will get replys.(just hit the right websites)
Reply:Build your own. Use a host like site5.com
You can always hire someone to build your site.
scriptlance.com
Reply:make an offer to freelancers, like me
check guru.com, coroflot, etc. you can post your project there
