I need help finding an online dating site that my ex won't be using?

I have a difficult situation - I had a very bad breakup almost a year ago with a guy I went to university with. He abused me emotionally, and once psychially. I haven't had any dates since him, and I withdrew from school because of the stress he was causing me. I am very bored because I don't know anyone in the neighbourhood who's my own age, and my friends are too busy. The only option for socializing is the Internet, but I don't want to go to a site where my ex won't be. I know he's on PlentyOfFish.com, and I thought the site was kind of lame and immature. I want a site where I can meet people my own age and possibly get dates, but I don't want a site where people rate pictures of each other or a site that's only focused on sex. I tried Lavalife, and hated it. Can anyone recommend a free dating or social networking site with people 18 - 25 in Canada, college/university students and with intelligent message boards and a large porportion of males? Please help!!

Why not try going back to school? That would certainly help fill the time, you'd meet new people, and you'd be improving your life.
