I'm 16, average guy.
So I met this friend online on a social network randomly and it has almost been a month. We like to talk to each other and it is my birthday next week. She asked me for my mailing address so she can send me something as I live in Canada and she lives in America.
I'm still wondering if i should. I need some help. If I give it to her, what can she possibly do with it? Can I be in danger of any kind? Please, I don't know what to do. Declining it wouldn't be nice, but I don't want to cause any problems. Please help. Thank you.
Oh No I am in a problem?
i understand ur point. thats normal that were keeping private things also, which doesnt mean were not honest. just tell her that she doesnt need to bother sending u a bday present, meeting a nice friend is more than any material gift.
Reply:Perhaps you could go to a mail box company or the Post Office and rent a post office box.
Who knows, she could be perfectly legit, or she could be a weird psycho. This way she could not come by your house uninvited.
Reply:get another web based addy, like hotmail, gmail. and send her that one, attachments, save them and scan first. becareful, you may be talking with anyone.
Reply:well by knowing physical address what one can do with it? Probably just send junk flyers and stuff which you can always throw them.
She is not asking you your bank account or SIN number right.
I won't mind giving my physical address anyways, it's on canada411 if someone knows my phone number or just my full name and province.
If you are still in two minds give someone's office address.
Just for 1 time mail, i won't open a PO box or spend any money rather i would say thank you.
Reply:Just give her a post office address, a place other than your own house. Tell her you don't want your parents getting the wrong idea. Its a white lie but later you can tell her the truth and she will hopefully just laugh and think you were cute. No biggie. But I think you have a right to be anxious and concerned and you have a right to protect yourself by doing things in a way that you can remain feeling safe.
And if it goes well, and you send her back something etc, then go from there!
