What do I say to a girl when contacting her on an online firends network?

I'm trying to find a friend, and potential partener on a local online friends network, as I have social anxiety and it's easier to talk to people this way. I have found several girls that have some of my interests, or seem nice, but I just don't know what to say, as they are total strangers. I wrote to some of them messages, but rarely received a response. I guess what I said was pretty boring and lame. Any suggestions? Would greatly appreciate it. Thanks :)

the best thing u can do is b yourself. don't fret over what to say and what not to say. just say what comes to mind, and if she is worth your time and effort she will get back to you. if she doesn't then keep searching until you find someone who does. she will be the one who is worth your time. the beauty of the internet is the ability to be able to meet so many people at one time without the face to face contact, so you can be more at ease. set yourself up with a cuppa or a bourbon, put on your best track suit pants and chat away. good luck on finding the right one!!!!

Reply:You might want to consider talking online to with an anxiety support group. Step 2 may be getting together with some of them. Another idea would be to make yourself practice talking with people on a daily basis. Even one person a day, at the store, job, school what ever your daily life provides. Just say something to someone. Good Luck!! Practice truly helps eliminate anxiety.
Reply:i have done the internet dating thing.. and women get alot of contact. you just have to be yourself and keep trying. someone will answer back. there is no magic line to get a response. most guys sound lame...but it has its appeal anyway.
