When we go online, we simply looking for information. So if I'm searching for cancer on the internet, I can say I'm looking for information that related to cancer, like treatment, picture of cancer cell or case studies of ex cancer patient?
But how do we apply this concept on online dating, ecommerce, eg. eBay, craiglist, social networks, like MySpace or Facebook? What kind of information people are looking for through these websites?
What does information mean to you on the internet?
Dexter said it well..... but i think the key thing to remember is that you are actually wrong in the sense that "we are simply looking for information" ...
Sometimes you go online to look for information, but other times we are looking for things like Dexter explained, or we are looking for/want to do something like play games/have fun .... and that's just one of the almost infinite amount of possibilities there are of things to do JUST on the internet
Reply:People have needs and interest.
Base on this two factors, sites like what you have mentioned above exist.
Online Dating - to make new friends and possibility a partner for life
Ecommerce like eBay and Craiglist - people want to buy and sell stuff and looking for people that are interested in their items.
Myspace and Facebook - serious networking with people of the same interest.
